VOCA FUSION FINE DINING

Located within the Asia Financial Centre in Beijing, VOCA is a fusion fine-dining restaurant conceived as a hidden gem nestled within a dense forest.

Our studio designed the interior as an immersive landscape, where organic forms, layered textures and carefully controlled light evoke the experience of dining deep within nature. Two sculptural green volumes form the restaurant’s VIP rooms. Shaped like a pair of folded leaves, their dark, weathered-green exteriors conceal warm golden interiors—creating an intimate sense of discovery as guests move from the “forest” into these softly glowing private spaces.

The open dining counter is sheltered beneath a dramatic, faceted ceiling. Its undulating form recalls the rocky surface of a cave, giving diners the feeling of gathering within a naturally carved enclosure. Alongside it, a sculptural green wall rises like a mineral formation overtaken by the forest, reinforcing the tension between raw geology and organic growth.

Lighting was carefully integrated into the complex geometry. Although the ceiling above the counter rises, folds and changes continuously, each beam of light falls at an even rhythm along the countertop. The dining surface is illuminated precisely in front of every guest, placing the cuisine and the interaction with the chefs at the centre of the experience.

VOCA occupies a uniquely shaped space with a prominent glazed frontage. After dark, its illuminated sculptural forms can be seen from afar, transforming the restaurant into a distinctive glowing landmark—a hidden gem revealed within Beijing’s urban forest.
