LIGHT WALL

The objective of the research is to find a way to build a non-solid barrier, blocking the light and noise coming from the traffic, and hence, to replace the common solid concrete barrier.

Plank is selected as a basic component for its ease of transporting and of constructing.

To form a wall from planks, we need to 'array' the planks.

To give a rhythm in the array, we try using sine function so that each plank is laid with a given angle in the array.

We have to make sure that the planks do not overlap with each other.

Because of the difference in angles among the planks and the gap created by angles, light can penetrate through the wall.

If we move at a speed along the wall, we will notice the penentrating light is changing and is forming a dynamic pattern.
